tail feather

It’s one of my favorite times of the year. Crisp cool mornings, crystal clear skies, the light bends and scrapes long shadows. The forests are still and quiet, empty of its summer song. The sleepy fields of grass full from Summers progress are cut, bailed, and stacked. All signaling the change of seasons. PC: Detail: A tail feather from a Downy Woodpecker. Penitente Canyon, Colorado.
